GLCU Foundation’s Annual Event Honors Clients and Thanks Partners
TheGLCU Foundation for Financial Empowermentheld its annual event on October 16 to celebrate our progress, honor outstanding achievements, and underscore the vital role partnerships play in empowering our communities.
In addition to honoring two very impactful community partners for their contributions toward youth financial education and a community member who overcame financial challenges to become the first in her family to not only fulfill a lifelong dream of homeownership, GLCU and GLCU Foundation executives expressed heartfelt gratitude to our partners, donors and staff.
Week of Volunteering Ramps Up Our Impact on Local Communities
For the second year in a row, we have expanded our giveback efforts around CU Kind Dayby facilitating an entire Week of Volunteering. From October 13-19, GLCU and GLCU Foundation employees demonstrated their commitment to our communities by volunteering more than 400 hours in support of local initiatives.

Community Action Partnership of Lake County and East Central Illinois Community Action Agency
The Community Action Partnership of Lake Countyhelps the community gain access to resources such as scholarships, home energy bill payment assistance, affordable housing, and more with the goal of helping families become self-sufficient.
TheEast Central Illinois Community Action Agency’smission is to eliminate poverty through education, professional development, and services. The Agency connects clients to programs such as utility bill assistance, home weatherization, and after school tutoring.
